The South Australian economy has been creating less than a job a day during the past five years and every single one of those additional jobs has been in the public sector.
During the last five years South Australia has created just 1,670 jobs – the lowest of all Australian states.
"Nothing illustrates the failure of Weatherill Government’s economic policies more starkly than the fact not a single additional job has been created by the private sector in more than five years," said Shadow Minister for Employment David Pisoni.
"The Weatherill Government has been unable to generate new jobs despite the fact our population has increased by more than 70,000 people during the same period.
"The only jobs created in South Australia since Labor's 100,000 new jobs promise was made in 2010 have been in the public service and for Labor mates like Grace Portolesi.
"If you subtract the 4,600 extra jobs created in the public service since 2010, we have effectively lost 3000 jobs since Labor promised to create 100,000 new jobs."
