Liberals call on DPP to review Mark Christopher Harvey sentence

The State Liberals are expecting the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to review the sentence handed down to Mark Christopher Harvey today.

“On face value, it appears the sentence handed down to Mr Harvey is grossly inconsistent and out of line with community expectations,” said Shadow Education Minister David Pisoni.

“This case sparked a Royal Commission, led to a Minister being sacked and sparked broad community outrage at the systemic failure of child protection in the Education Department.

“The State Liberals would expect the DPP to review the sentence handed down today and hopefully appeal the sentence that has been given.”
