As a result of my discussions on behalf of Unley Road Traders about proposed extended clearways on Unley Road, Minister Knoll and the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure has commissioned two further independent consultancies to examine the Keeping Metro Traffic Moving (KMTM) initiative clearway proposals.

Based on of their analysis, the marginal benefits these changes to clearway times would bring and in order to more effectively balance the interests of Unley Road traders and traffic flow it has been decided NOT to proceed with the previously proposed changes.

This is a significant result for the Unley Road business community who should be congratulated for their proactivity and activism along with the Unley Road Traders Association.

I would also like to thank the Small Business Commissioner Mr John Chapman and the City of Unley for their active involvement and assistance in achieving this outcome.

As your local Member of Parliament I will continue to monitor any ongoing proposals for Unley Road and encourage you to contact my office should you have any further concerns.
